My Travel Essentials

So I am headed to Madrid tomorrow.  But here are some of my favorite travel essentials…

My favorite carry on bag is my large Longchamp bag. It’s the perfect bag because it is a duffle, it’s foldable, and it’s able to hold everything you need.

1. Eye mask: for long flights or red eye flights it’s nice to relax with an eye mask. I usually use a face wipe and moisturizer before my nap so when I awake my face isn’t dry.

2. iPad/ books: reading material is essential. I get bored on long flights so I like to bring a variety. I also bring a travel journal on my trips, so I usual write on my flights. I also like to listen to music, so I also bring headphones too!

3. Passport: duh..

4: Charger/adaptor: you can never have enough adapters. I bought a pack of a variety of adapters and they have come in handy.

5. My goodie bag: (my bag is from Victoria Secret)

– deodorant and body spray are a must! I get nervous that I might smell so I tend to over do it.

– hand lotion/lip balm: for some reason traveling dries out my skin, so rehydrating is a must.

– face wipes: I usually also carry a moisturizer but I haven’t found a good one in Spain. But these wipes are rehydrating so that a plus!

– toothbrush/toothpaste: after my nap  I like to freshen up! It helps me not feel so blah.

– makeup: I just bring a few things; powder, blush, and mascara to help me look put together.

My attair for travel is easy, I layer. I try and wear comfortable bottoms, usually leggings. I also like to wear a comfy top and layer with a cardigan and scarf. Easy shoes to slip on and off are a good idea!
Let me know some of your favorite travel items! 🙂

Ps here is what my situation look like…

Bacon, Tomato,and Avacado Pasta Salad

Pasta salad is one of my favorite foods. This pasta salad is great for summer and has different elements from most traditional pasta salads. If you love pasta salad and BLT’s this will be great for picnics, cookouts, and other put lock functions this summer.

I found this recipe on Pinterest but it is from Susi’s Kotchen but I have posted the recipe below…. Hope you enjoy!!!

Ingredients:

6 slices bacon, chopped into 1-inch pieces

3/4 pound (12 ounces) dried Rotini pasta

1 cup mayonnaise

Juice of 1 lemon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill (or 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill)

1 1/2 cups tomatoes, seeded and diced

2 avocados, pitted and cubed

Preparation:

Cook bacon until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Set aside.

Cook pasta according to package directions. Strain. Run cold water over the top until the pasta is cooled.

While your bacon and pasta are cooking, whisk mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, garlic powder, pepper and dill together in a bowl.

Stir cooled pasta, diced tomatoes, and reserved bacon into the dressing. Toss to combine. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Right before serving add cubed avocados.

Lipstick recommendations

When it comes to choosing your lipstick color, you would prefer something that suits your skin tone or probably one that compliments your other features. Sometimes, you’d go for bold and daring like Mac’s ruby matte lipstick, which i totally recommend. I have a golden tan skin tone, I’m not too dark for a Filipina girl. It goes well with very minimal makeup and dark, slightly thick, well-done eye brows. it gives you that over all fierce, sophisticated, yet mild look.

The thing about lipstick is that it adds color to your word. Every time I talk to someone with gorgeous lipstick colors I tend to reenact the conversation in my mind with her lips as the subject. It’s captivating to think about. The nature of lipsticks is to create a whole new language without having to make a sound.

No matter what color, whether natural, nude or even the darkest color…

Travel Tips for Solo Female Travelers

She Walks the World

It was a warm day, and after walking around exploring the small town of Chalong, I sat down at a coffee shop at the side of the street. The shop was empty, except for the two Thai waitresses and a table of local Thai ladies, laughing and talking amongst themselves. I ordered a bottle of water and tried occupying myself by fiddling with my handphone and looking at the pictures I took earlier that day. After awhile, the Thai ladies turned their attention to me; asking in their broken English what I was doing alone in Chalong. I told them that I was here to dive, and they nodded their heads. We then had a short conversation, in whatever way we could communicate– and the handphone was forgotten. After that, every time I passed the coffee shop on my way to the dive center, they would wave at me.

Spring Scarves

I decided to do a little shopping this afternoon. I went to my favorite accessory store, Parfoic. I got two lovely scarfs, a three pack of earrings (gunmetal, silver, and gold), and a fun beaded bracelet.

I am a firm believer that scarves can be worn all year round. We shall call these spring scarves.

Day Trip

This past Saturday, some friends and I, went on a day trip. We took a morning bus to A Coruña. It’s a beautiful city that sits on the coast in Galicia, a definite must see.

Tower of Hercules

If you ever travel to A Coruña go to Sweet Place, it’s delicious. I got an Oreo Cheescake cupcake and the Nutella Cheesecake. They were the bomb.

Not That Kind of Girl.

Alexa.

What I’m about to say is not a request but an order.

You know that unsatisfying book that you’re currently reading? The one with too many adjectives and not enough meaning? Toss that shit aside. Grab your keys and drive to whatever store it is that you buy inked- up paper bound together. Go to the biography section. Pick up a plain looking book titled Not That Kind of Girl. Go to the cashier, have an internal struggle over the twenty-eight dollars you’re about to spend. Seriously consider spending it all on Taco Bell instead. Buy the book. And then don’t stop reading until you have come to the enlightened realization that you weren’t the only awkward and perpetually weird kid growing up in America.

Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham is honestly some of the most relatable combinations of 26 letters to ever enter my…
